HOW DOES IT WORK?

To combat acne, LUCENT IPL emits specific wavelengths of light to target P. acnes bacteria, resulting in selective destruction of the bacteria that causes acne.

LUCENT’s selection of filters empowers its users to get different pigment and skin concerns such as freckles, age spots, melasma, vascular lesions, and general dullness with the appropriate wavelength, leaving you with improved skin tone.

LUCENT also safely and effectively removes hair from the face, neck, chin, and body by targeting melanin found in the hair follicle. The melanin absorbs the light and transforms it into thermal energy, destroying the hair follicle and preventing future growth for long-term results.

LUCENT offers a non-invasive rejuvenation treatment aimed to improve the look of fine wrinkles and tighten the skin. By heating collagen fibers and stimulating fibroblasts over a series of IPL treatments, several studies have been shown notable improvements in dermal volume and skin texture

IPL can also improve vascular lesions by raising the blood vessel temperature high enough to cause its coagulation. LUCENT’s advanced pulse modes enable the delivery of the light energy to the vessel over longer periods of time. This results in gentle and even coagulation over the entire vessel, reducing the chance of rupture, purpura, and hyper-pigmentation for the patient.

WHAT IS THE LUCENT IPL PROCEDURE LIKE?

LUCENT IPL is an easy, safe and effective procedure that can be performed in a quick, 15-minute treatment session. During the treatment, you will feel a slight heating and some pressure on the treatment area. For most patients, the treatment is tolerable but your physician will work with you to maximize your comfort level. Prior to the procedure, your provider will apply a numbing cream to the treatment area to increase comfort during the treatment.

HOW MANY LUCENT IPL TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Patients typically need 3-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. Most patients report seeing improvement after the second treatment however results are optimized 3 months after the last treatment.

HOW LONG DOES A TREATMENT LAST?

Results vary based on the individual. To maintain results, maintenance treatments are recommended every 12-18 months.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY PROCEDURE?

After the treatment, an ointment will be applied to the skin and you will be asked to refrain from wearing make up for several hours. Any minor redness or swelling resulting from treatment will subside within 12-24 hours. After the treatment, you can expect to return to normal activities.
