WHAT IS RESTYLANE?

Restylane is a line of hyaluronic acid dermal filler products which include; Restylane Silk, Restylane Lyft, Restylane, Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne. Each filler is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid specifically formulated to act as your body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid. Each Restylane product is designed for a specific and different purpose. Restylane is used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane is also indicated for lip augmentation.

Restylane Silk is the first FDA-approved product specifically designed for subtle lip augmentation and the smoothing of wrinkles around the mouth. It is composed of a gel that is smaller and smoother than other Restylane products, resulting in a softer, more precise result — ideal for restoring and enhancing the lips.

• Silk lasts approximately 6 months following treatment.

Restylane Lyft is FDA approved to correct volume deficit in the back of the hands, for cheek augmentation and the correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies, as well as the treatment of moderate to severe facial folds, such as the nasolabial folds (smile lines). Lyft is also the first and only FDA approved hyaluronic filler to treat face and hands.

• Lyft can last approximately 6-12 months dependent on the amount used and area treated.

Restylane Refyne works with your skin to help smooth out lines that run alongside the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds and marionette lines) and the flexibility you need for natural-looking movement and expressions.

• Refyne can last up to 18 months, it is recommended for a follow-up treatment 4-9 months after initial treatment.

Restylane Defyne is designed to act like your body’s own hyaluronic acid to help smooth out deeper lines around your mouth (nasolabial folds and marionette lines) while giving you a more natural look through a range of facial expressions.

• Defyne can last up to 12 months, it is recommended for a follow-up treatment 4-9 months after initial treatment.

WHAT IS HYALURONIC ACID?

All Restylane products are hyaluronic acids, which are sugars naturally found in the skin that help provide hydration, fullness and elasticity. Hyaluronic fillers are facial injection treatments used to help diminish wrinkles while restoring volume and fullness in the face and hands.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR RESTYLANE PRODUCTS WORK?

Depending on your volume needs, most appointments take less than an hour and begin to work almost immediately.

ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS TO RESTYLANE PRODUCTS?

After treatment, you may experience side effects such as swelling, redness, pain, bruising, headache, tenderness, lump formation, itching at the injection site and impaired hand function. These are typically mild in severity and usually last less than 7 days with nasolabial folds and less than 14-18 days in lips. Swelling may be more likely in patients under 35 years, and bruising may be more likely in patients over 35 years.

HOW MANY RESTYLANE TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Initial treatments are usually complete in one or two sessions, as needed. Depending on your body’s chemistry, you will work with your specialist to determine a maintenance schedule specified for you. Speak with your physician or healthcare professional about your individual needs.
